We had some major excitment in our complex last night. Well, actually it started in the neighbouring complex. There was a flurry of barking from the neighbour's rotty, some gunfire, yelling and general mayham. Pretty soon, there was our security gard, flashlight and gun in hand. Several rounds were fired by our guard. Obviously whoever the intruder was in the neighbour's yard was scared off into our complex. After an exciting 20 minutes, peace was restored. We slept like rocks after that knowing we have a great guard and security bars. Dogs weren't too happy about the noise and confusion and added their voices to the event.
Christmas Day was excellent. We went for a long drive and stopped along the way to hand out toys in a small village away from the tourist areas. Kids were so grateful for one small toy - called Ross "Santa Claus". On our way back, we stopped for nachos and beer (which were excellent!!). Our Christmas Day dinner consisted of bbq filet minon and jumbo prawns. We skyped friends and family until the power went out. LOL
Ross took the quad yesterday to make his water run and didn't get very far from home and was stopped by the local policia...cost him RD $500....and he promptly came straight home without the water. LOL He had no helmet, had a few rum under his belt... So today we are going to try and find a helmet for Ross to eliminate any further run-ins with the policia.
Off to the greenhouse today......
